Zendoji Temple

Temple Explanation
Shendōji of the Chinzei branch of the Jōdo sect was established during the Kenryaku era (1211–1213) by Chinzei Shōkō, who succeeded Hōnen Shōnin, the founder of the Jōdo sect. Originally, it was not called “Shendōji,” but it was referred to as the “Hakata Discussion Hall” because Shōkō held a hundred-day sermon there.Address
